Meet The Customers Day and LA21 Programme

The Lubok Antu District Council (MDLA) had organised ‘Meet The Customers Day’ and ‘Local Agenda 21 (LA21)’ Programmes on 2 October 2010 at the RPR Housing Estate in Engkilili. The programme which began at 8.00am had attracted residents from the surrounding areas to gather and participate in the various activities organised. These activities included anti dengue campaign, talks delivered by officers from the Public Health Division and the Valuation and Taxation Division, senamrobik and lucky draw. The function was officiated by YB Dr Johnnical Rayong Ngipa, State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Engkilili.

According to YB Dr Johnnical Rayong in his speech, the gist of the anti-dengue campaign could educate the public, including city dwellers on the importance of maintaining cleanliness in their residential areas. The latter was also advised to keep clean in order to ensure good health and be free from dengue fever caused by Aedes mosquitoes. Indirectly, the campaign enabled dissemination of important information to the public on the preventive steps against the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes.

A cheque for mini rural projects (MRP) amounting to RM15,000 was presented to Nelson Mujah Girie, Lubok Antu District Officer, on behalf of Lubuk Antu RANDO Club by YB Johnnical Rayong. The latter also announced an MRP allocation of RM5,000 to Lubok Antu District Council (MDLA). Other guests present during the programme were Lolita Jaime ak Nicholas, Secretary of The Lubok Antu Council (MDLA); Jabu Saging, Lubok Antu/Engkilili Assistant Agricultural Officer; departmental heads, MDLA members and local residents.
