Free Additional Classes

Johor Baru Central District Council in collaboration with the Lima Kedai Residents Committee had organised special classes for poor students in July 2012. The additional classes were targetted at students who will sit for the Primary School Assessment Test (UPSR), Lower Secondary Assessment (PMR) and Certificate of Education (SPM) this year. Additional classroom program were supported by the Nusajaya Assemblyman, YB Datuk Abdul Aziz Sapian who was also present at the launch held at the Lima Kedai Hall. A total of 30 students will attend classes conducted at the Multipurpose Hall of Al-Hidayah Surau, and Office Room of UMNO Neighbourhood, Lima Kedai. 12 teachers were in charge of handling the class.

The program was part of the social responsibility of the community to taxpayers, particularly those who come from low-income families. The implementation can indirectly build good relations between the people and the organizers to ensure that the students achieve excellent results in their exams soon. The organizer will not refuse to continue such programs in the years to come if the program is successful at times. Abdul Aziz in his speech also encouraged students to strive for excellence in their studies. (KK16: 21 September 2012)
